Social networks are boom at the agricultural sector too
The boom of the social networks is also at the agricultural sector. In April, the firm CI2T www.ci2t.es created the especialized network AGRO 2.0 www.agro20.com and it has already more than 500 members. Mr. Francisco Larios, co-founder of the network says to be surprised with the success of this site, with visits from around the world, particularly in the Spanish speaking countries.
"AGRO 2.0 started as a marketing tool from CI2T which activity is to manage integrated systems of cultivation in greenhouses, but AGRO 2.0 has had its own dynamic, thus we are thinking even to decentralize the site looking for local administrators to give each country a deserving place. The idea is and will continue being to exchange ideas through the technologies of information and agriculture. The dynamics of its development will depend on the interaction of users. The network is not managed by the administrators but for the members of the virtual community who propose topics and address them according to their own interests", explains Mr. Larios.
Information technologies were time ago exclusive for few people, with social networks exchanges and interests have increased for all people. This new generation 2.0 makes that users generate and live themselves the knowledge in Internet. Internet is not only a place for reading but to share knowledge from everywhere. AGRO 2.0 receives experts´ comments from Peru, Chile, Argentina, Morocco, Spain etc…
AGRO 2.0 is a social network for the agriculture and the environment. It is very interactive since the site and information is totally responsibility of users. "We do not have censorship, very interesting debates such as the conflicts in Argentina and Spain were very interesting discussions. We leave to follow them with certain limits of respect, we leave the interaction to make its part. The knowledge in AGRO 2.0 is created by the user", says Mr. Larios.
Mr. Larios is optimistic on the development of AGRO 2.0 which "grows in a very spectacular manner and expects the same trend. It is the new concept and future of Internet".
